The Women's Centre of Calgary has come to depend on this event yearly for their organization. We have yet to let them down. Help us make a great Christmas for someone less fortunate. Last year, over 4,000 women and children accessed the Toy Room program. Comparing 2015 to 2014, we saw a 33% increase! We expect that growth to continue in the upcoming year and we need your help to meet the need. http://www.womenscentrecalgary.org/
This 4-piece combo has dug deep into time and sound, down through the roots of rock n roll, and come out crawling and clawing their way from across the tracks to a heavy welterweight championship under the bright lights. Their journey together in electric sound has just begun. They are heavy breathing, howling wolves that will not be taken down easy. Bust a move or listen to the groove, either choice it’s a feel good knock out punch.
The Tod Hughes Project.
Tod Hughes is a Canadian storyteller, who writes real music that comes from the heart. Songs about love, hurt, happiness, fear, disappointment and fun. A subtle message of hope is thread through the stories which are sometimes serious, and even a bit dark, while at other times slightly tongue in cheek. A live performance is guaranteed to be a fun event, which will leave you humming to yourself. The toe tapping melodies and memorable choruses will stick in your mind for days after hearing them.
POSTNAMERS is an oft-changing group of musicians centred around Matthew A. Wilkinson. They make a haunted, scuzzy brand of dark pop that lingers in your psyche long after you’ve heard it. Their music feels like something half-remembered yet strangely alien, with performance motifs sourced from cultural iconography. - https://www.sledisland.com/2017/postnamers
