BeatRoute Issue Release #17: Edging Towards Infinity

BeatRoute Issue Release #17: Edging Towards Infinity
Thursday, April 12, 2018

Bring small bills, because BeatRoute and Big Rock Brewery (on special all night, baby) are back again for an unholy night of weird music to get down to. PWYC; donations collected throughout the show but it's free to come in.

Burro are an antidote to complacency and cheerful mediocrity. These improv wizards of noise-rock and free-form music reward the real ones with a euphoric case of transmogrative osteoporosis that hurts as much as it heals. They haven't played in so long that they don't even remember how long it's been, who friggin knows when they'll play again?

Uncanny Valley are making their WorldWidePremiere just for us (DJ Khaled not included). How about a little post-punk music from a handful of pros? Alicia Palmar, Ryan Von Hagen, Robert Vessey, Gwen Morgan and Tyler Arnt host a set full of spooky basslines and bleary synth for your viewing pleasure.

Noise punk from occult! Bog Bodies is a swampy duo of shrieky freaks (in the best way) who rip faces with their onslaught of guitar, bass and programmed electronics.

Jokes aside:
The Palomino is not a venue that tolerates harassment in any form. You name it, it's off the table. Don't be shitty to other people and you'll do just fine.

And don't forget that this event takes place on the territory of the Blackfoot and the people of Treaty 7 Region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikuni, the Kainai, the Tsuu T'ina and the Stoney Nakoda First Nations. Calgary is also home to the Metis Nation of Alberta, Region III.
