If you harbour any doubt that the red-blooded, denim-and-leather spirit of rock is alive and thriving, The Mandates will scuttle it with their passionate three-chord guitar, bass and drum explosions. Melody and joy and four sweaty boys: that's what The Mandates are made of. - https://www.sledisland.com/2017/the-mandates
A mixture of equal parts Wings and Big Star, there are enough three-part harmonies and restless guitar pop here to set a smile to anyone’s face. Feel Alright has survived its years in Calgary’s music scene on an effortless ability to please and Craig Fahner’s melodic intuition. It’s a pleasure to see them again. - https://www.sledisland.com/2016/feel-alright
Edmonton-based Altameda (æl-tah-MI-da) formed out of a recording session for singer-songwriter Troy Snaterse, but quickly became a group effort to create something bigger. Despite the four- piece finding their roots in various genres, they felt compelled to blend their individual styles with the influences that shaped their earlier years. During the sessions for the group’s debut LP, Dirty Rain, it was clear that the band felt a chemistry that only arrives through shared experiences. - http://altameda.net
