Scenic Route to Alaska are once again hitting Canadian highways for a string of intimate and high-impact live dates this fall – all in anticipation of a jam-packed 2020.
For two straight years between 2016 and 2018, the heralded Edmonton-based indie pop trio worked tirelessly scaling the summit of the music scene. They dropped two acclaimed LPs – Tough Luck and Long Walk Home – that weaved memorable melodies and catchy vocals through compelling, musically-rich arrangements and earned a slew of awards and accolades on their backs.
Following some overdue and well-deserved downtime earlier in 2019, the band is now preparing to share their first taste of new music in over 18 months ahead of a handful of highly-anticipated shows between B.C. and Ontario that are sure to satisfy loyal fans and new followers alike.
Thomas Thomas is living in the past but playing music for the present. They were born out of early rock n’ roll nostalgia and brought to life through honest song writing and captivating visual aesthetics. Combining the heart and soul of a bygone era with a powerful modern sensibility, the Calgary band delivers a healthy dose of catchy mid-century pop rock.
Created and fronted by musical and visual artists Thomas Englund (Betaboys, Bell Tower) and singer-songwriter Shannon Thomas, the young band seeks to not only grab the audience with their exuberant sound, but also to cultivate a memorable live experience. From the signature yellow ensembles to the dreamy harmonies and relentless hooks, there is honest intention behind everything that is Thomas Thomas.
Put a quarter in the jukebox and join these golden-age pop-rock romantics.
The Northern Coast
Telling the hard truth with a grin, then moving and shaking away from it with an honest yet reckless abandon. Calgary based The Northern Coast have evolved into a diverse, bold group with a relentless high energy live show.
The Northern Coast is an alt rock, vocal driven band. Their sound is inspired by personal tales of dreams, lust, and loss set to the backdrop of the harsh Canadian climate. Through folk roots and garage rock riffs a heartbeat of thumping sound will grab you by the heartstrings. From songs off their debut EP “Revelry” like the fuzz-induced, stomp-charged "Georgia moon", to the cheeky anti-love song "Fickle", with it's contradiction laced lyrics.
*This event takes place on the territory of the Blackfoot and the people of Treaty 7 Region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikuni, the Kainai, the Tsuu T'ina and the Stoney Nakoda First Nations. Calgary is also home to the Metis Nation of Alberta, Region III.
