Super Duty Tough Work (Winnipeg)
Calling Winnipeg, Manitoba home, this hip-hop sextet is a well polished ensemble of highly skilled musicians, drawing upon the 90s dirty jazz loop that inspired a generation. With a sound that hearkens back to a by-gone era, they somehow maintain a fresh and innovative sound with an unparalleled live show, juxtaposing laid back qualities with high energy, uplifting beats. Originally the group was a live show only affair. For years the name travelled by word of mouth, but lack of an online presence or available music made the group more mythical than real. All of that is about to change.

A.Y.E & The Extraordinary Gentlemen
The soulful productions at the foundation of A.Y.E.’s sound offer the perfect bedrock for his precise and conscious rhyming style. Like a pro, he makes it sound easy to bounce staccato, double-time lines against cosmic flourishes of keys and heaves of humid bass tones. If you haven’t seen him on stage opening for acts like MURS and Pusha T, you really ought to correct that this June. -

Long Time No Time
A 5-piece original horn band taking influence from rock, soul, reggae, funk and jazz. Grooves so infectious that the dancefloor is never empty.

*This event takes place on the territory of the Blackfoot and the people of Treaty 7 Region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikuni, the Kainai, the Tsuu T'ina and the Stoney Nakoda First Nations. Calgary is also home to the Metis Nation of Alberta, Region III.
