Bridgeland
A tripped-out post-punk sound. Drawing on everything from late ’80s Anglo psych to the doomier side of Krautrock, it’s music perfect for a night of nihilism — and dancing. – https://www.sledisland.com/2023/bridgeland

Puppet Wipes
Local punks Arielle McCuaig and Kayla MacNeill’s new project puppet wipes is a “celebration of musical amateurism, lyrical experimentation and the wonder of performance.” Songs are created in the moment on tape, using voice, guitar, clarinet, synth and a whole lotta instinct. It’s an exploration of what can happen when you create in real time without a filter. – https://www.sledisland.com/2022/puppet-wipes

Dial up
Dial up is an art-punk-ish project started in pre-pandemic Montreal and re-assembled in Calgary over the last year. It takes some cues from Melt Banana, Death Grips, DEVO, and the B52s, bringing a sound that is fast, funky, and dance-driven layered with unexpected rhythms and dissonant jams.
