Taking their name from the Spanish word for “bodies,” CUERPOS shakes minds – and hips – with their enthralling live show. The dance duo blends psych and post-punk with the dub, reggae and cumbia of their Latin heritage, seamlessly merging cultural history with cutting-edge sounds to score a non-stop psychedelic dance party.

Bile Sister

Julie Reich’s amorphous synth-punk project Bile Sister swings between techno and ambient pop while keeping things gritty thanks to analog synths and drum programming. Reich has also been a member of Body Breaks and part of the live band for post-punk legend Chandra, who you may have seen at Sled Island 2019. As Bile Sister, she plays live as a trio and promises a mix of tracks from most-recent album Living on the Edge alongside brand new material.

Radioactive Vampire Teeth

Experimental noise duo Radioactive Vampire Teeth conjure up a radioactive storm of synth punk riding no wave. Marinated in the toxic sludge of Alberta wastelands, this pair of rotten teeth pummels you with distorted vocals, intense drum workouts and neon-glazed skronky noise. It’s dystopian music for a dystopian party, and everyone’s invited.

L4ZR GR1D

Ripping through a portal from synthesizer hell, L4ZR GR1D has been unleashed on Calgary and can’t be stopped. Harsh walls of electronic noise are punctuated by guttural howls from vocalist Alix Au when this duo hits the stage – or the basement show. Bring comfortable shoes and earplugs to this glitched-out set of punk chaos.
