Interlay
The new shoegaze wave — where punk, metal, and post-punk collide with raw intensity — is best embodied by Chicago’s Interlay. Their recent EP Hunting Jacket blends commanding vocals, atmospheric guitars, and heavy riffs with noise rock grit. It’s a perfect snapshot of the expanding boundaries of alternative music and the evolving sonic landscape of 2025.
Window Lamp Corp
Featuring a lineup of Calgary regulars, the Window Lamp Corporation is in the business of dreamy garage rock delivered with maximum effort. From opening for METZ to playing the inaugural Bob-Sled festival in January, they’ve been haunting our music scene for some time now. Catch them at Sled once more, and keep the jangley dream alive.
Tebby & The Heavy
Formed in Edmonton in 2022, powerhouse trio Tebby & the Heavy blends the thick walls of sound found in psychedelia and shoegaze, the playfulness of surf, and the sardonic temperament of grunge together into one fuzzy, tripped-out concoction. Side effects include head bobbing, technicolor daydreams, and undeniably good tunes.
