Ada Lea (Montreal)
Ada Lea is the musical project of Montreal’s Alexandra Levy. She has two albums released by Saddle Creek and Next Door Records (CA), including what we say in private and one hand on the steering wheel the other sewing a garden, which earned her a spot on the Polaris Prize Long List in 2022. Beyond music, she paints, draws, reads, takes forest walks, cares for plants, and organizes a seasonal songwriting method. The third Ada Lea album—rumored to be her best yet—is set for release in 2025.

Ghostkeeper (Calgary)
Pursuing influences like afro-psychedelia, traditional Metis music and proto-punk, the band never fails to sculpt an assortment of influences into a beautifully cohesive sound.

Silvering (Calgary)
Shalom Toy is a master of her voice. She unwaveringly changes her tonal delivery from one line to the next to an enchanting and beautiful effect. Silvering’s 2019 EP takes the behind-closed-doors sincerity of bedroom pop and injects it with the energy of playing in front of crowds who shout back every line. – https://m.sledisland.com

Bennett Mitchell
Sled Island called Mitchell, “Like Harry Nilsson or Cat Stevens before him, Bennett Mitchell is a folk singer-songwriter who can skitter around genres and ornate production styles without losing sight of his core — an original voice with a distinct point of view. On this year’s Mouse, his third album, he rambles and reflects atop spare, bouncing instrumentals.”
